What's new on the App Store: Guides by Lonely Planet, twofold, and more

We start our look at apps this week with Guides by Lonely Planet, which offers guides to sights, sounds, and other interesting spots in various cities. CHOMP is a new app from author Christopher Niemann that lets you and your child make fun pictures, videos, and animations. Package tracker Deliveries has received a major update, with support for 3D Touch and the iPad Pro. Finally, check out Wild Weather, which uses beautiful illustrations to show the day's weather.

In games this week, we start with twofold inc., a colorful new puzzle game. We've got some more new platforming action with Super Phantom Cat. Build out your own custom ship and fight to survive a post-apocolyptic world in Sandstorm: Pirate Wars. Also be sure to check out Kung Fu Panda: Battle of Destiny, a new card battle game based on the hit movie series.

Political junkies, this week's app collection is for you. The primary season really kicks off on Monday, Febrary 1 with the Iowa Caucuses, and the App Store has a collection of apps ready to go. Stay up to date with the latest political news from CNN, or the Fox News Election HQ 2016 app. Focus in on the Iowa Caucuses with the 2016 Iowa Caucus app. Stay engaged with your fellow citizens through the icitizen app. Or unwind from the election stress with a game of Floppy Candidate, where you spend each level dodging obstacles in Washington.

Check back next week for more new apps and games from the App Store, and remember to check out this week's Free App of the Week.
