Apple plans developer center downtime on Saturday at 6PM PT

Apple has notified registered developers that it will briefly take down its developer center for scheduled maintenance on Saturday, August 17th.

We want to let you know that the site will be undergoing a brief scheduled maintenance on Saturday, August 17th at 6pm PDT. During this time the developer website and developer program services will be offline.

In July the Apple developer center went offline for eight days. The company revealed that it took the developer center offline due to a security intrusion, but did so without informing developers until several days after the fact. Hopefully Apple's proactive warning about Saturday's brief scheduled outage will cause developers less consternation.
