WWDC 2010 - What We Didn't Get

Now that the WWDC 2010 keynote's over and the dust settles, we know what we're going to get in the coming weeks. iPhone 4 with a brand new look and tons new features, iOS 4, iMovie for iPhone, new developer APIs, iAd, and then some. Apple definitely changed the game today.  But what about the things we wanted but didn't get?

We're all extremely excited to get our hands on the new hardware and OS but for many users, iOS 4 still leaves certain things to be desired. Keep on reading to see what we would have liked to see.

Apple announces Steve Jobs to keynote WWDC 2010

Apple today announced that Steve Jobs would be kicking off their World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC 2010) with a keynote address Monday, June 7, at 9am PT where he's widely expected to announce the iPhone HD/iPhone 4G.

They also remind us that WWDC 2010 sold out in a record 8 days, and with its decidedly iPhone OS focus this year and competitive pressures this year, we should be in for one heck of a show.

Apple posts pro-tips on how to best move your Mac Keynote presentations to iPad

Apple wants you to get the most of your Keynote presentations when you move them from the Mac to the iPad, and they've put a Knowledge Base article to show you just how to do it.

From recommended themes to page sizes, fonts to image formats (PNG if you're curious), to compressing the bits out of the various elements to keep the file size small enough for the iPad's anemic memory.

If you live in Keynote on the Mac and the iPad, put these pro tips to use and let us know how they work for you!

Apple's iWork for iPad, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, now in US App Store

Apple's bravura attempt to bring productivity apps to multitouch, the iWork for iPad suite of Pages [$9.99 - iTunes link], Numbers [$9.99 - iTunes link], and Keynote [$9.99 - iTunes link] are now all available in the US iTunes App Store.

(We're guessing Apple is waiting to roll them out internationally until the iPad officially rolls out internationally in "late April", though they could conceivably hit any time).

These will be defining apps for Apple and the iPad, both in terms of the price point they're setting and in how far they can go in convincing people the iPad can be used to create and not just consume.

If/when you try them out let us know if they're good, good enough, or just not. Apple Guided Tour videos after the break!

Apple 2010: Buh-Bye Macworld, Hello CES?!

Apple Insider is reporting that Apple is packing up the graceful booths and elegant displays, and taking Steve's winnebago to CES next year:

Sources close to the company have indicated to AppleInsider that the move is a done deal, a remarkable turn of events given that CES has long been dominated by Microsoft's product announcements issued in keynotes delivered by Bill Gates and now by CEO Steve Ballmer.
