Printopia brings AirPrint support to all Mac attached printers

Printopia extends iOS 4.2 for iPhone and iPad AirPrint compatibility to any printer associated with your Mac. That's important because, while AirPrint was one of the most highly anticipated features of iOS 4.2 and Apple boasted that AirPrint mades it simple to print your email, photos, web pages, and documents, by itself it's currently only compatible with 11 printers. Apple releases Mac OS X 10.6.5 ahead of iOS 4.2

As part of the steady march towards iOS 4.2, Apple has released Mac OS X 10.6.5. Beta versions of this OS were said by developers to be necessary to enable iOS 4.2 iPhone and iPad AirPrint support for networked printers. Now, however, there have been rumors networked AirPrint support has been postponed or cancelled.

We'll try it out with the iOS 4.2 GM but we likely won't know for sure until the release version of iOS 4.2 hits, hopefully soon.

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 via greenpois0n [Jailbreak]

Wondering how to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 with greenpois0n? Jailbreakers have a wealth of options when it comes to iOS 4.1. We've already looked at how to jailbreak iOS 4.1 via limera1n and how to jailbreak via PwnageTool 4.1. Now we're looking at the Mac version of greenpois0n. PC users shouldn't have too much difficulty following along with any of these as the steps are generally the same. It's really up to you what tool you decide to use. I suggest unlockers use PwnageTool 4.1 though, as it will preserve your baseband for future unlocking. And as always, we take no responsibility to any damage done to your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

MacBook Air brings iPad attributes back to the Mac

As part of the Back to the Mac event, Steve Jobs wondered what would happen if a a MacBook and iPad hooked up and the answer is the new MacBook Air. It's full unibody, full keyboard, full trackpad. Instant on. Great battery life. Great standby time. There will be both 13.3 inch and 11.6 inch models.

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion brings iOS, iPad innovations back to the Mac

Steve Jobs today gave a hint at the future of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, and that future is... iOS and iPad!

Multitouch gestures
App Store
App home screens (with Folders)
Full screen apps
Auto save
Apps resume when launched

It's not going to be a multitouch Mac. Jobs says Apple tried it but vertical touch surfaces are tiring and don't work. That's why Apple has made multitouch trackpads for laptops, and Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad for desktops. That's how they're going to do multitouch.

Mac App Store won't be exclusive but Jobs thinks it will be the best. Same 70/30 developer split, one click downloads, free and paid, auto instal, auto updates, licensed for use on all your personal macs.

LaunchPad will be the homescreen for Macs.

Mission Control will unify Spaces, Exposé, Dashboard, full screen apps.

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 via limera1n [Jailbreak]

Wondering how to Jailbreak your iOS 4.1 iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad? limera1n was updated to support Mac today and after testing, it's a pretty painless process. Pretty much what we've come to expect from Geohot. So here's your TiPb-style walkthrough. You PC users should be able to follow along relatively easily as well since both jailbreaks are pretty much identical in nature. We've also got tutorials on how to jailbreak iOS 4.1 withgreenpois0n as well as how to jailbreak iOS 4.1 with PwnageTool 4.1 as well. So feel free to pick your pois0n, er... ra1n.

Reminder: .Mac HomePage goes buh-bye in November

Apple has sent out a reminder to MobileMe members who subscribed back in the old .Mac days and used HomePage to publish content to the web.

The short version is, after November 8 you'll no longer be able to view those pages though the content will remain in your iDisk and can be reused in things like MobileMe Gallery, or republished via the iWeb app. (Or who knows, maybe something even more interesting when/if iLife '11 is announced).
