Steve Jobs: You have to start with the customer experience and work backwards to the technology

I love this video of Steve Jobs from 1997, answering a hard question in an open and honest way. This is what I want to see more of from all our technology companies. Not polish, not script, just great products that they obviously love and can't wait to share with us, and a real dialog about the choices they made to get there.

Just watch it.

10 years ago today Apple shipped iTunes for Windows, and hell froze over

10 years ago today iTunes shipped for Windows. Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs, co-founder and CEO of Apple, CEO of Pixar, driving force behind the popularization of the Mac, of iTunes and iPods, of Apple Retail, of the iPhone and iPad, and of Apple itself, passed away two years ago today.

A temperamental, triumphant, fallible, transcendent technologist and artist, his taste, sensibility, and the sheer breadth and audacity of his vision more than dented our universe - it shaped our culture and our lives, and helped empower us to dent universes all our own.

You shook the world, Steve, and it was shaken at your passing. But technology goes on. Art goes on. Apple goes on. We're lessened without you, but what you left behind has enabled us to achieve so much more.

Thank you.
