Apple names Steve Dowling as Vice President of Communications

Dowling was previously a broadcast journalist at CNBC before joining Apple in 2003 where he would come to led the company's corporate communications team for ten years. Prior to today's move, Dowling named as Apple's interim head of public relations in October of 2014 after previous VP of Communications, Katie Cotton retired from her position earlier that year.
With Dowling's move to Vice President of Communications, he will report directly to Tim Cook as the company continues in its efforts to be more open and approachable on the PR front.
