Apple online retail chief Bob Kupbens reportedly leaves company

Apple's vice president of online marketing efforts, Bob Kupbens, has reportedly left the company. Kupbens, who has run Apple's online store and other online retail programs under retail SVP Angela Ahrendts since early 2014, is said to have taken a position at another company.

From 9to5Mac:

Bob Kupbens, the Vice President in charge of Apple's growing online retail business, resigned from the company last week to take on a new position elsewhere, according to multiple sources. Kupbens joined Apple in 2014 and has been in charge of all online-based Apple retail initiatives, ranging from the recently redesigned online store, its integration into the main Apple website, the online iPhone upgrade program and newfound connectivity with Apple's physical retail stores.

In joining Apple, Kupbens had replaced Jennifer Bailey, who moved to become head of Apple Pay. Before joining joining the company, Kupbens was vice president of eCommerce for Delta Airlines.

  • Hopefully they'll now return the site to have the store separate of the product pages -- currently it's very unintuitive to navigate.
  • I disagree. I like it better now. I wouldn't like a store in which I had look at stuff & see specs in one building then had to go to another building to actually buy them. Sent from the iMore App
  • Maybe for you, but I much prefer this new layout
