Netflix adds Post-Play support to Chromecast from iPhone and iPad

Netflix has just announced that it has added its Post-Play feature to Google's Chromecast HDMI dongle for users who are streaming videos from Netflix's smartphone and tablet apps, including the iPhone and iPad versions.

Just in case you are not familiar with Post-Play, it lets users automatically watch the next episode of a TV series a few seconds after it finishes the last episode, and it also offer recommendations for similar movies after a user watches a film. Netflix states, "We increased the countdown slightly to allow for more time to grab your phone or tablet, but otherwise it works just like the other devices that already support 'Post-Play'."

The Chromecast Post-Play support will be added to the PC version of Netflix soon. What do you think of this new feature?

  • I've used this feature on Xbox for awhile now, I love it, Glad they brought it the movie when i'm using my chrome cast in the bedroom, nice!
  • ABOUT TIME!! Sent from the iMore App
  • That's nice to have, but what I would really like is lockscreen controls so I can access them without having to go back into the app that's Chromecasting.
