Nintendo Switch gamers can soon play with the $50 PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is a stellar gaming accessory, but it's also a pricey one retailing at $69.99. Thankfully, the company PowerA is releasing a new set of similar controllers for $49.99 each which feature some fantastic designs, including Mario and Zelda-themed options.
The Pro Controller's form factor makes for a comfortable fit while you're playing, and luckily the same can be said for the new controllers from PowerA. They're officially licensed by Nintendo for use with the Nintendo Switch too, though there are a few drawbacks if you opt for one of these as opposed to the Pro Controller. For starters, the new controllers have a 30-hour battery life where the Pro Controller offers 40 hours on a single charge. While that in itself isn't a huge detractor, PowerA's controllers also require the use of AA batteries while the Pro Controller is rechargeable via USB-C, so that's something else to consider.
Dubbed the 'PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller', one addition you'll find which isn't available on the Pro Controller are the two mappable Advanced Gaming buttons found on the back. There are various LED indicators for power, button mapping, player number, and low battery too.
The controller is set to release on October 15 and is currently available to pre-order at Amazon in Mario Silhouette Red and Link Silhouette Green for $49.99 each. Meanwhile, stunning Red, Black and White versions of the controller will be available soon.
