Just a few apps that do some of the above. Of the 110 apps on my iPhone, I spend about 95% of the time in these three:

1) iFeeds -> I don't see how any RSS feed reader could work faster, smoother and be as well organized as MobileRSS. It integrates well with other apps, too.

2) iBlog -> I mobile blog via Blogpress. Much more robust than any other blogging apps I've found.

3) iChat -> Using MessageNow to text for free! Not as robust as a desktop chat client, but gets the job done and has push notification so you don't have to sit in the app waiting for messages.

iMags is a very interesting idea. SI's demo mag shows the potential for publishers. Earlier this week content publisher Pressmart also announced its support for iPad, which could mean something. I prefer my daily news in paper, but iMags could be new super app

I think the problems comes from Apple's own software development agreement thing.

If developers are not allowed to recreate software that is built into the iPhone OS (web browser, email client, etc) then it wouldn't be fair for Apple to make an RSS Feed Reader, Chat Client (it would look the same as messages on iPhone anyway), or Blogging tool (unless specifically for iWeb sites).

And I'm sure Apple would rather let others do it and take 30% of the cost.

iMags and iNews are intersting idea's though.

I wonder how we're going to get those fancy concepts for Magazines we saw in the run up to Jan 27th event. Also, would it just be a constantly updating App, a clever website, or what? Maybe content similar to iTunes LP I suppose.

When u update to 3.1.3 look at the battery percentage remember it, then reset ur iPhone and when it turns back on look at the 1st intial lockscreen the battery percentage will be 8% lower then after a sec it will jump back 8 % to wut it should really be… Very very strange I thought apple was supposed to fix the issue not make it worse…. DO NOT UPGRADE PLEASE STICK WITH 3.1.2 FAR LESS BUGGY….

I AM LOOSING FAITH IN APPLE UR GETTING WORSE EVERYDAY, UR NOT IMPROVING THE IPHONE UI AT ALL.. UNLIKE ALL UR COMPETITION…. STEP UP APPLE AND BE A MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK! OK! iStand corrected, and iStipulate that the iPad warrants coverage here since it's running the iPhone iOS. I'm just disappointed because I was hoping for it to run something more akin to the Mac OS. Here's to iRev2!

Magazines and newspapers are actually what I think I would use the iPad for the most. I think it'll be that thing I take a look at during commercials. I can see it replacing the pile of magazines sitting around.

Also, @rebo and @milk, stop complaining about iPad articles on an iPhone site. Given that they share an OS, I think iPad articles here are fine. Otherwise I'd have to go to some other site for iPad news. I like the one-stop-shopiness of TiPb.

iComics

I spend about $20-$30 a month on comic books that end up in a box in the closet. I would love to see Marvel and DC release same day subscriptions to the iPad. For all you haters out there the iPad is perfect for comics. No need to pan or zoom around since it is roughly the same size as a comic. Marvel already has much of their catalog online now. They have a deal with the PSP (dumb), but the iPad would rock.

I have to think that Newspaper and especially magazines will be making their way onto the iPad before long. That just seems like a natural application of the device. Although I want an iPad for other reasons, its use as an ebook reader is very unappealing to me because of the lack of an E-Ink screen. I could definitely see myself using this to read full color magazines. That's a frequent complaint with magazines on traditional ereaders, and the iPad is perfectly positioned to overcome that complaint.

I also agree that a robust blogging client would be great. Apple's software can be hit or miss, but I wish they would at least take a stab at it.

I've never used IM, though. It just isn't useful to me, so mobile iChat doesn't appeal to me, but I can see those who use it wanting a native solution.

How about being able to tether my iphone to my iPad for free, or for a reduced rate.... I mean heck its the same data with the same restrictions that the iphone has, seems like it should be reasonable. I want to consider this as an alternative to buying the ipad with it's own 3G built in.... after all, I already have a very capable 3G device that is always with me.

iMags are cool! I'm pretty excited to see what else the iPad could do. I always wondered how anyone could lug this thing around but I found a site that is making custom leather carrying pouches for the iPad. No pics are up yet but they are saying around March they'll be show cased. I guess around the time the iPad goes to market. Either way here is the site http://www.mycustomleather.com

I personally don't wanna see most of my friends in purpose so iChat is not a feature that concerns me.

I'll take iMags and multitasking and I'm good to go, I'm really easy to please.
