But with beta 2, non-developers could no longer install as the 'back door' got closed... you can't install without your device's UDID being registered in the Developer program.

Does this update have a patch to kill the recent jailbreak??

chris_26 says:

It wouldn't surprise me.. Apple usually patches JBs right after they are released.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

crazygonzo says:

That's why it wasn't released today for the public :)

Any info on how "soon" 7.1 will come out to non developers?

crazygonzo says:

They need to finish some 'in the car' nonsense so probably at the end of the January. Also maps are supposed to get better again thanks to their recent acquisitions.

ShameerMulji says:

iOS in the Car is hardly nonsense. Apple needs to keep making big strides in the automotive area. And I'd be surprised if iOS 7.1 gets released end of January. I'm guessing more like end of February or middle of March.

Trappiste says:

Well, the maps cannot get any worse, so every change is welcome... I do not request Nokia or Google level of accuracy, just that the maps would find most addresses at the right location most of the time. Oh well. Maybe some day when they have added enough irrelevant overperformance and bits to the chipset, some money may go to the user experience, too.

Just tried jailbreaking 7.1β3 with evasion 7 - not supported :(

KamranMackey says:

It's not supported because the Evasi0n7 software has to be updated to support beta 3. But don't worry, the Jailbreak hasn't been patched. You just have to wait for Evad3rs to update the Windows & Mac software so that it supports iOS 7.1 Beta 3.

Derrick4Real says:

i hope down the line they have a dark theme for ios as an option.

zdn1042 says:

And, the Invert Color option does not count!

I just saw screen pictures in Mac Rumors... This might open a can of worm but graphic design is poor at this stage and I do not see improvement in the UI but rather making it difficult to pay attention to the smaller buttons replacing the larger ones. Keep the larger ones as they are please...

asuperstarr says:

Can't wait for the release to the consumers.

In iOS 7.1 beta 3 Parallax can be disabled for wallpapers (found when setting new wallpaper).
I don’t think that this, however, changes the way iOS 7 zooms in the selected wallpaper. Also you have to wait till may be March for iOS 7.1 to go public. I would suggest that you use this app which has lot of wallpaper related options like creating blurred, gradient, dotted gradient, color wallpapers & more. And also fixing the zoomed wallpapers. You won’t waste a dollor on an app that just fixes zoom wallpaper. If you are interested. Its Wallax App.

They changed a lot of the buttons to a circle now. I like the flat, square looking ones better. Head over to MacRumors for the changes and pictures.
