Rene, I heard most of the podcast and wanted to add a shoe recommendation that I did not hear mentioned. The Merrell Barefoot Trail Glove, which gives you that same 4mm barefoot sole as that Vibram Five Fingers in a normal toe shoe (although with a lot more toe room to allow for natural toe movement). I've worn them for almost a year now and love them. I've tried the Nike Free and found that while it may be a good transition shoe going towards minimalist/barefoot, it still hold many of the same faults conventional athletic shoes have, e.g. elevated heel to toe ratio and excessive cushioning. Check out the Merrells and I think you'll like them, also the the New Balance Minimus MT20 is my next minimalist shoe to try.http://www.merrell.com/US/en-US/Product.mvc.aspx/22875M/50390/Mens/Baref...

I got the Minimus MT10 in black/yellow (greenish) and I love them. They look a lot better than the "toes" for normal wear, but are still kinda ugly. I have major back issues, and I'm a big guy at 6'-4", 235. But I am sold on them now. Thumbs up. FWIW, I normally wear a 13/14 and I went with the 14s.
