Beginner tip: How to restore your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad

Curious how to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it's acting funny and nothing else will work?  Need to install a beta or custom firmware?  Whether you're experiencing freezes, crashes, or your iPhone or iPad is just doing other crazy things - a restore will fix most of your woes.  Restores are also something developers need to know about to test beta firmware, and jailbreakers should become very familiar with, as sometimes it can make your phone a little less stable than it is stock.

No iPods, iPhones, or iPads cross the Bill Gates threshold

Melinda Gates has once again re-affirmed that no Apple product, no iPod, iPhone, or iPad, is welcome in her and husband Bill Gates' house. Last time she said she wouldn't mind an iPhone, of cthis time she stuck to sterner stuff:

Do you own an iPod, which is made by Apple?

No, I have a Zune.

What if one of your children says, “Mom, I have to have an iPod?”

I have gotten that argument — “You may have a Zune.”

Do you have an iPad?

Of course not.

Is it true that Bill works on an Apple laptop?

Gaming Controllers for iPhone, Would You Want One?

After over three years of the iPhone being on the market, there's still not a great "have to have it" gaming controller accessory. The iPhone, iPod touch, and now the iPad have become serious competitors in the gaming arena and while touch gesture games are awesome in their own right, there's several games that would benefit from having an actual controller.

iPod, iPhone, and iPad: why Apple is so much more successful than Google and Microsoft

Yeah, crediting the iPod, iPhone, and iPad for why Apple is so much more successful than Google or Microsoft is a loaded headline, or would be if Mark Sigal from O'Reilly didn't point it out in so succinct a fashion:

iPod nano (2010) review

iPod nano (2010), the sixth generation iPod nano, is a complete redesign from form factor to interface. Gone is the click-wheel, gone is the camera, gone is the video. What's left is a beautiful, polished square running something that looks like iOS, complete with multitouch, gestures, and little nano apps. How does that compare to an iPod touch or iPhone? Read on after the break for our review.

iPod nano 6 [gallery]

He may be little, but the 2010 iPod nano 6 still looks like iOS and still acts like iOS so I'm going to show him off like he's iOS -- up against the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4.

I'll be working on the review this weekend, so if you have any questions, leave them in the comments.

Follow along after the break for the gallery!

Apple special music event - what we didn't get

What didn't we get from Apple during their 2010 special music event? The iPod touch line got an extremely decent refresh, as well as the Nano.   iPhone is getting iOS 4.1 next week with some newly added features and some much needed bug fixes. The iPad will be getting iOS 4.2 - in November, but I'm sure some of us would have liked to see it sooner. And we got an overhauled iTunes. I personally wasn't expecting a whole new iTunes, so that was the surprise of the day for me. AppleTV was pretty underwhelming in my book (as well as Rene's).  Click through to see what us here at TiPb would have liked to see and let us know in the comments what you would have liked that just didn't make the cut this time.
