Apple TV jailbreak updated for iOS 5.1

If you updated your Apple TV recently to 5.0 (iOS 5.1) you can now jailbreak it again. FireCore has just updated their popular Seas0nPass jailbreak tool to offer tethered support for the newest firmware on the second generation Apple TV. If you picked up a new Apple TV, you'll have to sit this one out for now.

New iPad already jailbroken on iOS 5.1

Looks like the new iPad is already well on its way to getting a new jailbreak. The Dev Team has posted a status update on the new iPad, and have in fact already jailbroken is on iOS 5.1 using a few different methods.

In defense of Cydia, the jailbreak app store

Georgia recently wrote an editorial about the frustration she's experienced using Cydia, the jailbreak app store. I'm a long time advocate of jailbreak and the benefits it brings with it. While Cydia may not be perfect, and it definitely isn't the same experience as using Apple's App Store, there are reasons for why it works the way it does, and some huge advantages that come along with it.
