Apple rumored to be urging developers to get Retina display iPad 3 apps ready for announcement event

Building off of news from yesterday that Apple will be holding an iPad event in early March comes word that Apple has been in a frenzied rush with developers to finish up their iPad app efforts so they can be demoed on stage. Rumor: Apple starts issuing iPad 3 build orders for March release

According to japanese news site macotakara, Apple has issued build orders to Foxconn and Pegatron for the iPad 3, which is expected to hit in March.

This first lot production implements LCD's, which are produced by Sharp Electronics Corporation, and aims to be shipped at early March, source told.

It has been rumored that Sharp will produce the new IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) iPad 3 panels, with a purported Retina display resolution of 2048×1536.

Rumor: Apple to ship Retina display iPad 3 in March, iPad 4 in October

Randomly accurate rumor site Digitimes suggests that, according to industry sources out of Taiwan, Apple will release a Retina display iPad 3 in March, then turn around and ship a more significant iPad 4 in October.

The 9.7-inch iPad 4 is expected to come with much upgraded hardware specifications and integrated applications so as to compete with an array of Android-, Wintel- or WoA (Windows on ARM)-based tablet PCs to be released in the fourth quarter, said the sources.

Randomly accurate rumor site Digitimes claims word from supply chain sources that Apple is on track to release the iPad 3 within the next 3-4 months.

The next generation iPads are expected to be available in the next 3-4 months as makers in the supply chain have started delivering parts and components for the new tablets to OEM contractors while reducing those prepared for iPad 2, according to sources in the supply chain.
