As noted by GigaOM, a lot of iPhone 4S and some iPhone 4 users are continuing to experience an issue where they cannot hear anything from the recipient on an outgoing call.

The issue in question is when the iPhone 4S (and according to some reports, the iPhone 4, too) mutes all audio on the caller’s end when placing an outgoing voice call. The person on the other end of the line can hear everything just fine, but on the caller’s end, there’s no ringing sound and no audio from a recipient speaking.

The issue has pushed the Apple Support Communities discussion thread past 110 pages with users expressing their frustration and calling for Apple to do something about it. Two of our editors, Rene and Georgia, have both had their iPhone 4 devices swapped out by Apple when the earpiece stopped providing audio (only the speaker phone would work).

It has been speculated that iOS 5.1 won’t address this issues — assuming it is addressable by software — but we’ll have to wait and see.

If you’ve had the same or a similar problem, let us know, and let us know how it’s been handled so far.

Double-billed, have a purchase you didn’t make, or just have a problem with an iTunes purchase and wondering who to contact an how? There are millions of users and credit cards on file with iTunes, so every once in a while weird issues are bound to pop up. Unfortunately iTunes doesn’t have a phone line to call but they do have a pretty good support team that answers e-mails and deals strictly with iTunes billing issues. Keep reading and we’ll show you how to contact them!

All you’ll need to do in order to contact iTunes customer support is find the problem invoice on your iTunes account and e-mail them a little blurb explaining the issue. You can find your invoice in either the email receipt iTunes sends you after you purchase an app (or a few apps, they try to bundle them to lower credit card transaction fees), or by logging into your account via the iTunes desktop app and then clicking on Purchase History.

Once you have the right invoice…

Click on the Report a Problem link directly from the problem purchase and you’ll be routed to the iTunes support site instantly. Just jot down your invoice number.

Once on the iTunes support site, on the left hand column navigate to iTunes Store Account and Billing.

Next select the topic you need. Most likely Billing Inquiries.

Then click E-mail us and fill out the form. Your invoice number isn’t required but I’ve found they respond a lot faster if you submit complete information. Also make sure you provide a valid e-mail address and that your Apple ID is correctly input.

You’re done! You’ll receive an automated message stating an iTunes rep will respond within 24 hours. Shortly after, you’ll receive correspondence from an iTunes rep that can help you resolve your issue.

I’ve always had a great experience when dealing with them. They always seem to respond promptly and resolve the issue at hand. What was your experience? Let us know!

Tips of the day will range from beginner-level 101 to advanced-level ninjary.

A lot of people have been waiting for Flash on an iPhone (unofficially of course), and if you’re jailbroken, you can have it now, via Frash. Frash is basically a port of Flash 10.1 for mobile. We also have to keep in mind, it’s in a severe Alpha stage. And it shows. But if you just can’t wait to get your hands on a way to run Flash on an iPhone, click on through for some more thoughts as well as a walkthrough complete with video of how to install.

First for my thoughts on Frash. Honestly, a year ago I would have been more excited to have Flash on an iPhone. Maybe it’s just me, but ever since El Jobso essentially put the ban hammer down when it comes to Flash on iPhone, a lot of companies and web designers have been more wary when coding websites. It seems like more and more sites everyday are embedding code in order to make their sites more iPhone friendly. A huge example is Vimeo. I hated it when I’d be browing news sites or blogs and videos would be embedded with services like Vimeo. You just couldn’t watch them. Now, they load nicely in a Quicktime mobile player and you’re good to go. Facebook also supports iPhone mobile video viewing from within their native app. This solved most of my Flash woes overnight.

I can also see why some people still want Flash. Some websites still use splashscreens written in Flash. It’s especially irritating to not be able to get to a website’s main page just because the intro is written in Flash. Most of the time, you can type index.html or something of the like into the address bar after the web address to bypass Flash, but not always. (Not to mention it’s a pretty annoying workaround.) If you’re someone who tends to deal with a lot of Flash content, Frash is probably your best solution as of now.

I wouldn’t recommend installing Frash on any iPhone model below a 3GS. Safari will most likely do nothing but crash on you. And again, keep in mind Frash is still in it’s very infant stages. But if you’re still interested in giving Frash a go, follow these instructions to install or watch the video below which also provides a walkthrough and demonstration of some of the bugs I’ve experienced with Frash so far.

Jailbreak Your iDevice via JailbreakMe.com, you can find directions here.

Next, you’ll need to add a repo to Cydia. Tap Sources along the bottom, then go to manage, tap edit at the top, then add the following repo: http://repo.benm.at/

Once you’re done adding the repo, search “Frash” in Cydia and install. That’s it, you’re done. You should now be able to access flash data via Safari on your iDevice.

Let us know how it works for you. As you can see from my video below, I experience a lot of crashes with it. I’m also using a 3GS for jailbreaking purposes as I have the prox sensor issue with my iPhone 4 and don’t want to jailbreak that one as I’ll install 4.1 the minute it’s released so I can quit FaceTiming people with my cheek already. But if you’ve had a better experience than mine (or worse), leave it in the comments below, along with any tips or tricks you may have!

It seems Google has slipped in some improvement for Google Docs document viewing via iPhone and iPad (and Android). For quite a while, the only documents that really played nice (at least for me), were spreadsheets. You can now go to docs.google.com on your Android or iOS device and view formats such as .xls, .pdf, .ppt, .doc, and .docx. I didn’t see anything about .pptx though, I guess we’ll have to wait and see on that one. If they’re supporting .docx, not supporting the newer Powerpoint format doesn’t really make sense to me.

The only glitch I seemed to find is that Word documents aren’t that pretty. Some of my old accounting Word attachments were formatted pretty bad. I checked them on the computer and it wasn’t the actual document. That may be something that needs a tweak on Google’s end.

Here’s a quick tip for iPhone users as well. What I actually do is open the Google Mobile App and click Google Docs, it’ll automatically route you to the docs.google.com page in Safari. So you can go that route as well.

Hit the jump for some screens!

Apple has updated the support document that details iPad Wi_fi connection issues, adding that a software fix is indeed in the works. Two of the main Wi-Fi issues include a weak signal and forgotten passwords.

While waiting for Apple, if you happen to be part of the “very small number” of iPad users suffering from these iPad Wi-Fi issues, you can try some of the following workarounds:

Update your Wi-Fi router firmware

Use WPA or WPA2 for your wireless security

Adjusting screen brightness

Renew your IP address

Any of these solutions work for you? Still having issues? Let us know in the comments below!
