Netflix adds support for 3D Touch and iPad Pro
last updated

Netflix has updated its app for iPhone and iPad, adding compatibility with Apple's latest devices. The app now supports 3D Touch peek and pop on the iPhone 6s, and has added a layout optimized for the iPad Pro.
Here's what you can expect from Netflix 8.0:
- Post-Play experience (episode auto-play/recommendations) now on iPhone
- iPad Pro optimized layout
- 3D Touch support
- Improved Kids experience on iPad
- Arabic support for devices running iOS 9 and later
- Performance improvements
Note that while Netflix now supports the iPad Pro, it still lacks support for features like Split View and Slide Over multitasking or picture-in-picture viewing. You can grab Netflix 8.0 from the App Store now.

And yet not a hint of picture in picture

I give every update a 1-star rating with the comment of adding video overlay. They still haven't done it yet.

There isn't any 3D support for the iPhone 6s Plus. Sent from the iMore App

It works fine for me. Just gives a peek and pop preview of something within the app.

No 3D support yet, on my iPhone 6S after I updated the app. Sent from the iMore App

3D Touch does not work on the app icon but it does work when pressing down on shows and movies within the app.

Thank you! I was thinking it was suppose to work on the app itself. It does work for me inside the app.

It should work on the app icon itself really, it's a lazy implementation

Thanks for pointing that out!!! I thought there was something wrong with the app.

They've also made some great and necessary VoiceOver accessibility improvements. Sent from the iMore App

What is up with Netflix and YouTube and their **** poor support of the iPad Pro's multitasking abilities? Surely it can't be that complicated to get PiP and slide over working. Sent from the iMore App
