Niantic is making good on its promise to make up to Trainers who were impacted by technical issues during Pokémon Go Fest 2020. On Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 11 AM to 2 PM local time, Pokémon featured during the Fire, Water, and Friendship Habitats will return, as well as a few other bonuses.
Niantic has just announced the schedule of events for Pokémon Go Trainers in August 2020. Scraggy will be featured as the Research Breakthrough Reward Encounter and four Spotlight Hours will also be featured.
Magikarp will be featured in August's Pokémon Go Community Day on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Gyarados evolved on Community Day will know the event exclusive move, Aqua Tail.
As in years past, Pokémon Go Fest 2020 featured challenges for players to complete to unlock some Ultra Bonuses! Players completed all of these challenges, unlocking three bonus weeks focused on Dragon types, Enigmas, and the Unova Region to be held in the weeks following Pokémon Go Fest 2020.
When it became clear Pokémon Go Fest 2020 could not happen in the way previous Go Fest events had, Niantic chose to re-imagine its biggest event of the year into a global, 100% virtual event. Despite a few technical hiccups, Go Fest was a huge success and highlights how Niantic could make its events going forward more accessible.
