yup apps are working but just the simple ones. everytime i ask the average iphone buyer whats their favorite app they say "that one that you can put your phone to the music and it reads it" aka shazam

Other than Pandora, I use the Internet way more than apps. I'm still waiting for the next app to hit that level. Another idea I have is to make specific top 25 sections for iPhone and iPod touch. The reason those fart and other garbage apps get the most attention is because 10th grade kids who got an iPod touch for Christmas keep those apps up there. I think it would be nice to differentiate the lists but Apple may have no way to track the specific type of device that purchased each app.

Its sad given most of the time apple tells us it cant meet user demands for features because of performance/ battery life issues!

I think maybe for someone whose life is Always in motion, but for the rest of us the apps make up f0r some entertainment, but in no way are as useful as the internet. At least someone like me wouldn’t think so..

apps may be getting new customers. The number of apps 20000 or whatever matters very little to me. Very few of the apps are worth a damn. I prefer quality over quantity. Apps rarely do more for me than entertain and rarely are able to do that for very long. I still use the Internet more than apps.
