I bet those findings are indeed true that more and more people are using smartphones. In fact, these has open the door for more money to be made by selling apps.

These figures dont suprise me at all - the apps make the iphone. Apple are killing it with apps like Skype, iFitness, Last.fm why go anywhere else? A simple search on Twitter http://search.twitter.com/search?q=blackberry+sucks reveals a reason for the gap...

Not shocked at all. While far from perfect, Apple has given developers the best opportunity to make money. They have delivered excellent tools to developers, continue to improve their SDK, have the original app store which makes marketing easier - especially since customers carry a version with them all the time and have a huge secret weapon. At least that's what Walt Mossberg calls the iPod Touch. It runs the same apps that the iPhone does and sells slightly more devices. That makes it a 2X market for developers - especially if they write utility, gaming or other apps that work best without a connection or can be used infrequently when the user is on a WiFi connection. And if this isn't enough they have to be comping at the bit to begin selling 3.0 versions of their programs.

Not surprised. You knew all about the app store when it launched in more than just internet blogs; haven't seen one story or mention of BB App World anywhere outside of internet blogs. App Store is the king and it's the crack of iPhone users.

not at all. apples the only one not playing catch up. the phone may b missing some features. but it's nothing apple can't add on with new fw.
