I think it's a good idea but it should be included in an Apple app that does more than that. Apple needs to develop an app that resembles there online site... News Store Locations (w/ genius appts) Products and Accessories (so I can order a new phone case, etc right through that) Message Board / Help Forums

I can speak for a large crowd in saying this should already exist and would be much more useful than a just genius bar app. Plus why would they want to say yeah our products break but here's a more convenient way to get help! They should put it in a bigger package! And just call it Apple.

umm u know Concierge is not only used for iPhone appointments, right? If my Mac is down and needs an appointment, the iPhone app can come in very handy there.

Also, appointments are not only for repairs. People sign up for training, sales, Genius advice, and what not

Ice bike makes a good point. Ron Jeremy took his week 27 3gs in once for an exchange because of cracking issues right out of the box. Most of the genieses are condecending towards anybody exchanging a defective product. I wish you didn't have to deal with ten just for an exchange of apples sub- par build quality iPhones. Compared to my first gen which is rock solid, my 3g and 3gs felt cheap. Even the home button clicked cheaply. But RON JEREMY will always love apples 's products. My cups empty I need a koolaid refill everybody drink up cheers.

No. If I need service chances are the thing is a brick, so why would I want this?

You get a jack and a spare tire with a car because it is EXPECTED that you will need it.

It's all good, I guess. I rarely make appointments with Apple, and when I do, it can always wait until I get to a computer.

It still boggles my mind that Apple's Discussions isn't optimized for iPhone. How about someone out there making an app for that?

Good idea. But I think they may be already using this in store for the concierges. I went to a store on Saturday and overheard someone ask one when they're next opening is. The concierge said pulled out an iPod Touch and said "umm looks like... blah blah blah"

Of course, she could be using notes or ical or just a random 3rd party app.

Time will tell I suppose.

Good idea to extend mobile capabilities to include retail too. Wouldn't be shocked to see them do more things with it in the future beyond the Genius Bar.

Also, time for them to get an iChat app up and running. That one is loooong over due. Hopefully, when they do it has facebook and twitter integration.

Probably not, but not because there's anything wrong with the concept. The issue for me is that the nearest Apple Store is in Alexandria, VA - so I'd be driving like 50 miles up I-95 to get there. Not gonna happen no matter how wonderful the app is. Now, if I could use my iPhone to order up a Genius to come to my house, that would be awesome.

it couldn't hurt but I'm still waiting for the rumored FM radio app. I'd probably rarely use the apps (both te FM radio and Concierge), but like most consumers, I want the option to have them.
