Sunrise Calendar goes universal, adds week view, background updates

Sunrise Calendar is now a universal app, adding a new design for the iPad in today's update to version 2.1. Also part of the update, Sunrise has a new Week view to both iPhone and iPad. On the iPhone, you can view three days at a time, while on the iPad, you can view five in portrait, and seven in landscape.

Sunrise Calendar 2.0 for iPhone review: Now with support for iCloud calendars!

Sunrise Calendar for iPhone has always been an extremely unique alternative calendar app as it manages to combine all your calendar events with weather forecasts for the day. Previously, you could only use a Google account with Sunrise but as of version 2.0, there's support for iCloud built right in. If you aren't happy with the native Calendar app in iOS 7, which many of you don't seem to be, Sunrise Calendar is a very viable alternative.

Sunrise Calendar: Interesting idea, deal-breaker implementation

Sunrise Calendar launched in the App Store this week to mixed buzz. It looks interesting but it only works with Google Calendar and requires -- requires -- you to login with Facebook before it will let you start using the app. That's an absolute show stopper for me. I don't need or want to login to a calendar app, and if I did, while Facebook would be a welcome option among many, I won't use any third-party app, not ever, where it's the only option.
