The 4K FireTV Stick is a beast. I bought it because it was on offer. I don't have a 4K TV, but it works just fine with 720p and 1080p panels. I previously had a FireTV Stick from a couple of years ago which was so sluggish it made using it a pain. The 4K stick flies. I can't believe how fast it is. It makes the whole experience so much more pleasurable and makes a cheaper non-smart TV into a very useable smart TV. It's not just the Amazom Prime stuff, but the apps you can run on it for all manner of things. Highly recommended.
The Fire TV is an Android device, there's so many apps you can get if you know how to load them on. If an app doesn't support navigating via the TV remote, you can buy an app on the iPhone called Mouse Toggle for Fire TV which lets you put a mouse cursor on the screen, very cool.
