What you need to know

  • Pokémon Unite is a MOBA 5v5 battle arena game on Switch.
  • The Pokémon Unite Twitter account recently revealed that Blissey would be coming to the game as a supporter.
  • This Pokemon will be available starting Wednesday, August 18.

Pokémon Unite arrived on Nintendo Switch a few weeks ago and has since become a very popular game. At launch, the Pokémon Unite roster only had 20 characters to choose from. But now, we know thanks to the Pokémon Unite Twitter account that Blissey will be joining the fray as a Supporter on Wednesday, August 18. It will probably get released during the Pokémon Presents presentation scheduled for that same day.

Blissey's moves allow it to heal allies or increase its basic attack speed. Its special Unite Move is called Bliss Assistance and allows it to come to its ally's aid and protect them.

This announcement is a little surprising to some people as many were hoping that Blastoise, a Defender, would be the next Pokémon added to the ranks. He has been teased for a few weeks afterall. But it looks like we'll need to wait a bit longer before we can play as him.

Up until Blissey was announced, Supporters and Defenders had the lowest number of Pokémon to choose from at three apiece. Blissey raises Supporter choices up to four. Now we just need another Defender to give more options to players. With all of the fun provided by Pokémon Unite, it's no wonder it's one of the best Pokémon games on Nintendo Switch.
