Even though the Instant Pot is probably the most well-known brand out there when it comes to pressure cookers, it's not the end-all-be-all. Cosori actually ends up being a better value for many people, and it works just as well as the Instant Pot.
Even though I'm a big Instant Pot fan, I must admit, the Cosori is definitely appealing. The fact that it's cheaper than the Instant Pot, has a pressure release button instead of a loose-fitting knob, and has multiple pressure levels for various foods is drawing me in. Plus, it comes with a tempered glass lid for slow cooking or serving food and a spare sealing ring at no extra cost.

However, as you scour the Internet for great pressure cooker recipes, it's important to know that most are geared towards Instant Pot models and the default "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" mode, which is high pressure (unless otherwise stated as low pressure). Since the Cosori has six pressure levels that are numbered, keep in mind that "1" is low pressure (great for vegetables) and "6" is high pressure. Everything else is in-between, though Cosori recommends "2" for seafood since it's delicate.
The Cosori's pressure release button is also smartly placed in the center of the lid, with the steam valve off to the side. This keeps your hands safe from hot steam, and it's much easier to use than the knob on the Instant Pot.
Cosori also packs in a tempered glass lid and an extra silicone sealing ring for customers. The tempered glass lid is great for slow cooking, steaming (with the Steam function), or protecting the food as you serve it. Silicone sealing rings always wear out over time, so you'll need to eventually replace it, but Cosori just gives you one for free. You can also use one ring for savory dishes and the other for sweet desserts.
The accessories that the Cosori comes with are a big factor for those who are looking for a good value. For $20 more, the Instant Pot doesn't provide a lid or extra sealing ring for you; you'll need to purchase those yourself.
However, the Instant Pot is not a bad option either. Since the Cosori only comes in a 6 qt size, Instant Pot does offer more variety in sizes (3, 6, and 8-quart sizes) to fit you and your family's needs. Instant Pot also has fantastic customer service, so if anything goes wrong with your Instant Pot, a representative will be more than happy to help you out. Plus, as mentioned earlier, most recipes out there are already tailored for Instant Pot models, so using it will be much more straightforward.
