UK agency working to put your driver's license on your iPhone

The UK's Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is working on a way to let drivers store their licenses in the iPhone's Wallet app, right alongside their credit and debit cards. The digital license is currently in the prototype phase, and DVLA CEO Oliver Morley says that it won't be a replacement for a physical license, but an add-on to it.

Morley later noted that as this was a prototype, the DVLA does not have a timeline for a rollout right now. He also made sure to say that the agency's chief priority with this project is security.

The U.S. state of Iowa has also been investigating digital driver's licenses for over a year now.
