You can save an immediate $300 when you grab a new iPhone XR at Verizon today. This deal doesn't really require a whole lot from you except that you sign up on a new line of service. You'll be signed up to a 24-month commitment, and then over the course of those 24 months you'll receive the $300 in the form of a promo credit. Plus, if you're switching to Verizon from another carrier and you sign up on an Unlimited plan, you'll be eligible for a $200 prepaid Mastercard. That's $500 in savings with very few hoops to jump through. This is an online only deal, so you won't find it at Verizon retail stores.
What happens with this deal is that the iPhone XR would normally cost you $24 a month. With this deal, you'll only pay $12.49 a month instead. You'll lose out on those promo credits if you end up no longer meeting the eligibility requirements, which wouldn't happen in most cases unless you cancel your service or stop paying.
If you want to get the $200 prepaid Mastercard, you'll need to go to the Verizon Promotion Center website and use the code NEWYEAR200. To maintain the maximum benefit from this, you'll want to keep your line active for at least 45 days. Plus, if you cancel within the first six months, you'll get a $200 charge back. So don't do that. The card is mailed to you within eight weeks.
The iPhone XR is available at this price in several colors including Black, White, Yellow, Coral, Blue, and Apple's (Product)Red. You can also get the phone in 128GB or 256GB capacities. You can still get the $300 credit with the higher capacity phones, but of course you'll end up paying more overall because they're just generally more expensive. The 128GB phone will be $14.58 a month, and the 256GB phone will be $18.74 a month. The color options will also be more limiting as the 256GB phone is only available in Coral and Yellow.
Check out our review of the iPhone XR where we gave it 4.5 stars out of 5. Rene Ritchie said "It has almost everything you'd want in a flagship phone for 2018, minus the price tag that's typically coming with them these days." Thank goodness you don't have to worry about that. He added, "thanks to Apple's top-of-the-line hardware engineering and the headroom afforded by A12 Bionic, it'll last you or anyone you sell or hand it down to a good long while to come, maybe as long as a couple of phones that are half the price."
