Great review. Why? Because it reveals the good side and the bad side of each of the games. First, I hesitated on one of the two games, so I searched on the internet and found this review, and I thought that Moto Chaser is a really really good game! So I bought it in the app store!

The Stig has an iPhone? Sweet. I wish we had Top Gear here in the US. I was watching it on YouTube until it got pulled.

About the apps. I've had MotoRacer (er.. Chaser) since the first day the App Store went live (before I even got my iPhone). It's an ok game but I don't play it much. I found the graphics to be lacking and the bike very hard to control. I play Asphalt 4 just about all the time these days, the motorcycle implementation there is far superior.

The Stig is not a motorcycle racer so I’ll simply go along with what you say is better. Back to the track and racing cars for me.

This was obviously a one-sided competition as Contra Sense is no match for Moro Chaser!

Although these look to be the bottom of the bunch, I still don’t think this is any contest. Moto Chaser, while a good but not great game, beats the pants off Auto Contra Sense. Top-down racing games do nothing for me. That alone causes me to dismiss it outright. Racing games should all have a drivers-seat view. Period.

frog: I think it is close. It is a matter of how well the accelerometer is implemented. For example, Super Monkey Ball has a steep learning curve because Sega (IMO) did a poor job of executing the tilt function. By comparison, Spore controls a lot better and uses a similar steering mechanism.

Regarding off road tracks. I am not sure. I have not “beaten” the game yet; the checkpoint times become rather aggressive! There are approximately 12 levels. I can’t see all of them because until they are unlocked, a big “lock” is covering the graphics that represents the stage.

Seems odd to compare these too. One focus on speed and graphics, while the other is focus on a "Mario Coin Collecting" style.

For me, they wouldn't be competing one against the other, but since "There can be only one", Moto Chaser wins in my opinion.

I prefer to play the real "Mario" on my GBA when I want to collect coins.
