I just bought the I-Phone today. I am shocked that the supposed best phone on the market can't use simple picture mail.

I am even more shocked that there are so many people out there defending such a stupid mistake as to leave this "MMS" technology off the phone? It's been a basic feature of the last 5 cell phones I have owned and used by the overwhelming majority of cell phone users. There is NO EXCUSE for not having it on the phone.

Scott said it perfectly! MMS and email ARE NOT THE SAME THING! U might aswell say email has replaced text messaging.

I have better things to do with my time than ask some1 if they have an email capable device. Also many people I know just have a phone as a phone and are not interested in this email malarky!

My 11 sister sent me a pic the other day n all I got was some stupid weblink! I had to ring her n tell her my expensive iPhone can't to what her £30 pink samsung phone can do...she said 'your phone sucks!'

Email and MMS aren't the same. Just like email and text messaging aren't the same. If you all have tech savvy people around you, great, email them till your hearts content. MMS is very popular here in the UK and we don't have the ability to email an MMS, we can only email to an email address.

You've got to be kidding me right? Email is just as good? I suppose if you only have one or two friends. However in my contact book I don't have everyones service provider listed and 80% of the people i know don't have an iphone or blackberry capable of receiving email. And when someone sends me a picture, I have write down a long password (no copy/paste) and then type it into my web browser, instead of just looking at a stupid picture. Not that MMS is necessary to keep the world moving, but if I want to easily send a picture of my drunk friend making out with a mannequin, or my biggest poop ever, I should have the option for the $500 I paid for this phone.

whatever... This phone should have MMS. If you think it should then just don't read the forum. What's the problem with u ppl. If someone things that MMS is a must then it is for them, they not exactly on here for you ppl who don't need it.

I presume that if someone MMSes you, you get a text message which contains a URL encoded to open up the Mobispine application?

Or is it going to use the magical push service that doesn't exist yet to badge its icon so you know you have MMSes?

Having never sent an MMS I'm not sure what to expect in this regard. I just don't know anyone with an MMS plan that I want to send pix to, and I don't have any friends who want to MMS me

.for all of you that don't want MMS fine....but stop acting like an iPhone groupie aNd acknowledge the fact that a phone of this calibre should have EVERY basic phone feature whether YOU personall use it or not, including MMS, text forwarding and business vCards!

I know many people that don't use vCards, but does it make it a dead function? NO!

Before you ask yes I am a happyish iPhone user, buy this MMS shouldn't be an issue.

This just goes to show that Apple has ZERO intentions of adding MMS to the iPhone. If they were interested they would never allow a 3rd party permission to add it.

Will video a and sound in different formats work? Do carriers convert formats into suitable ones, or does the phone have to support, them, as many phones probably use formats which don't work on the iPhone.

Die, MMS! Die!

Seriously, I now use Mail on iPhone to do everything MMS used to do, even sending MMS to other cell phones via the carrier-specific MMS email gateway. MMS is a rip off, and I don't miss it at all.

I love my iPhone but hate that I have to pay for MMS (family plan text messaging) and I don't have true MMS. I love my iPhone but hate that I cannot switch my own battery when it dies. I love my iPhone but hate that I cannot voice dial any number while driving or any other time (even with my blueant V1I am limited). I love my iPhone but hate that those little white ear buds do not have a shirt clip as most others do.
