I think Rene Ritchie and Engadget is for the lulz.

It's somewhat unknown that Rene is in communication with Diazien Hossencofft and Linda Henning about reptilian humanoids taking over the earth.

The three will do to 'reality' what was done to Girly Hossencofft.

You are missing the bigger picture. Above SMBPrefs is the Twitter logo. By filing this patent application, Apple will not only kill jailbreakers they will OWN TWITTER!

These are applications for the 1.x firmware, when there was no AppStore. SMB is SummerBoard, now we have WinterBoard (btw, for 3.0 it will be FallBoard?), and there is also the ScreenShot which is no longer necessary.

Might this be Apple's attempt to get money from the jailbreak community through patent licencing? Might they be using this as a way to limit/ break the jailbreak community? If this is approved, they could use this as a way to file patent imfringment suits, an ironic twist.
