Sony set to release a Crackle app, access to free streaming movies and TV shows
Sony is working on an iOS app to provide access to its online streaming site Crackle. Crackle has a ton of free movies and TV shows which you can stream to Mac or Windows PC’s; or any browser that can support Flash. Unfortunately, as we well know, iOS devices don’t support Flash.
When you try and access a stream on an iOS device, you now get a message telling you that the Crackle app is coming soon for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Crackle is one of the fastest growing entertainment destinations today, featuring only the genres you love -- comedy, action, drama, sci-fi, horror -- anywhere you are. There is no information as to when we can expect the app to hit iTunes; you can register to be kept updated. Do any of our readers use Crackle? Let us know in the comments!

The big question is how much access the app will have; my SONY TV has a Crackle app, but it only can see a fraction of what is available on the website.
That's great news. Me and my girlfriend watch movies with the Crackle app on our Sony Blu-Ray player all the time. Nice to know I'll soon be able to catch a movie or show on the road.
I like Crackle. Hope it has TV out.
Never heard of the site, but just visited (from my PC), and watched the beginning and several other parts of "Ghostbusters". The timeline at the bottom indicates commercial breaks, but I did not see any or even provoke any (perhaps due to Adblock Plus?).
You say "Free" and they say "Free" (and everything did indeed appear to be free on the desktop version; but I clicked the mobile link at the bottom and it appears they charge up to $6 month for access over various mobile carriers. For example, they say on Android you can watch 3 movies and 10 free TV shows on the free app but then you need a paid app at $4.99 a month. Non-Android apps apparently cost $5.99 a month.
So this is really free or just another HULU PLUS competitor?
