redsn0w updated to version 0.9.10b4, includes iBooks fix

Popular iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad jailbreak tool, redsn0w has been updated to version 0.9.10b4 and now includes a fix for the iBooks issue that has long been plaguing jailbreak.

The b4 version of redsn0w incorporates the 5.0.1 fix for iBooks, and also for sporadic problems with launchctl. Thanks to @xvolks for merging the iBooks (sandbox) fix from @comex’s github into the overall corona untether from @pod2g! As usual, you can choose to install the fix either by re-running redsn0w over your existing jailbreak (de-select Cydia if you do that), or by installing the corona package from Cydia (it’s the same set of files no matter which way you choose).

If you need help, check out our redsn0w 0.9.10 how-to and our jailbreak forums.

Is there a way to incorporate the iBooks fix onto 4.xx jailbreaks? I'm not ready to go to 5.01 with my 3GS and my iBooks is broken with Sn0wbreeze as the picture books have problems rendering the pictures.

PLEASE HELP! So I upgraded to Redsn0w 0.9.10b4 to fix ibooks problem and i still have an ibooks app that i can't delete and when i open it it closes by itself 2 seconds later. Also when i try to install the official ibooks from the appstore it starts installing and stops half way and says "Unable to Download Application. iBooks could not be installed at this time". How in the world can I fix this!?

    • Don Birdsall says:

      I had the same problem.

First I made sure the jailbreak was up to date via Cydia. This did not fix the problem but may have contributed to the fix.

Second, I completely deleted the iBooks app and turned my device completely off.

Finally, after rebooting, I reinstalled iBooks. It installed and all my books were still there.

      Hope this advice helps!

    • Ioannos says:

I confirm that. Deleted ibooks and also deleted its folder from iFile then rebooted and it installed

  5. This may not be the best place to request this, but I am trying to find a pest management provider inside the pittsburgh area and have no method to find out who is the best. I found this company which is definitely close to me and wished to see if anyone has any testimonials on them. Spectrum Pest Control, 3058 West Liberty Avenue, Dormont, PA 15216 - (412) 446-2802
