Evernote and LinkedIn partner up to scan business cards

Evernote's app for iPhone and iPad is getting a nice update today with a business card reader feature that ties in closely with LinkedIn. After taking a picture of a business card through Evernote, a new cloud-stored note can be created with all of the important contact fields populated by information on the card and whatever it can pull in from a LinkedIn match. From there you can import the contact to your device's Address Book or shoot out a LinkedIn connection invite.

Pebble firmware updated with some good fixes for bad problems

Pebble 2.0 has been a bit of a work in progress, and today that work continued with updates to its Android and iOS apps — as well as a full firmware update for the smartwatch itself. (And, yes, those of us on Android can now control Pandora via our Pebbles. So there's that, too.) Mostly bugfixes here, but important ones from the looks of it.

Google Maps takes your trips offline; Adds lane guidance, saved places and more

Google Maps has been updated to include lane guidance, search result filters, and Uber integration. Also, high profile destinations now let you drop down to Street View to get up close and personal, save them for offline viewing, get access to easier directions, and get quick access to saved spot across multiple locations. Oh, and transit directions will show you how long you're going to be walking too.

99Games Online, the subsidary of Robosoft which produced the successful title Dhoom 3, is returning to release another title. Million Dollar Arm is based on the upcoming 2014 Disney biographical sports drama film of the same name and has just gone live for Windows Phone, Android and iOS.

Rovio soft launches Retry, their take on Flappy Bird

Rovio has announced a Flappy Bird-inspired game called Retry, currently soft-launched in Canada. It features the familiar one-touch controls and extremely sensitive impact areas of the insanely difficult physics game, but lathers on the retro graphics, an old-school aviation theme, and a much wider variety of levels.

Tumblr is building theme customization into their app

A new Tumblr app is on the way to Android and iOS devices, bringing a new level of blog customization to your mobile device. Previously, there was no built-in way to make edits to your Tumblr blog when mobile, but now users will be able to change things up on the fly, whether at home or on the go.
