Complete guide to finding places, businesses, and getting directions with Siri.

Siri isn't only your digital assistant, it can be your digital co-pilot as well, helping you find where to go, how to get there, and what else you can do along the way.

Right now, Siri location services are only available in the U.S., but come iOS 6 this fall, Apple will be expanding it to many more countries, and integrating Siri with new features, like iOS 6 Maps' turn-by-turn navigation.

In the meantime, here's what you can do with Siri and Maps right now.

Siri can find places for you, including everything from Starbucks to the home or work addresses of your contacts.

How to find your way home with Siri

Siri also makes it easy to return home from any unfamiliar place you might have visited (or in the event you get lost).

Before Siri can do this, you'll need to make sure that you have your home address programmed into your contact card and that you've got it linked up with Siri.

How to find locations and get directions using Siri

Someone should develop a SIRI language guide. Several sources are reporting that SIRI search effectiveness/accuracy ranges between 62%-68%. I wonder how much of that is how questions are asked versus software/hardware interface issues.

If you are referring to the Forbes study, it does not appear to be a word problem so much as an Siri interpretation problem. The study said Siri got the answer wrong 1/3 of the time even when it correctly understood the words. (Google, by contrast, scored 20 points higher, though I am not about to look through those 1600 questions to see how "fair" they are.)

Since Siri isn't command based, it's much more getting used to making clear & concise requests. Like Google, Apple's servers are continuously refining Siri's answers. But Google has been refining their speech database for many years, beginning with their free 411 service
Cheers !

Siri fails closer to 50% on my phone when requests are clear and concise. I'm disappointed with Apple on this and rarely use the feature now. Hoping iOS 6 makes a noticeable difference.

Is there a way for Siri to access bookmarked locations in apple maps, for use in getting directions?
