Americans of Iranian descent have been having a hard time picking up iPhones and iPads in the state of Georgia due to a U.S. import ban that has translated into a sale policy at Apple stores. On multiple occasions, shoppers were heard by Apple Store managers speaking Farsi and denied service.

Apple quietly releases new iPad Smart Case

Apple quietly released a new iPad Smart Case, amongst the many other announcements at WWDC 2012.

When the Apple Store went back online shortly after the keynote, many people noticed that Apple had snuck in a new iPad accessory into the store, 'The iPad Smart Case."

The 'Smart Case' is compatible with both the iPad 2 and the new iPad, and covers both the front and back of the device, giving your device extra protection. It's made out polyurethane and works with all current 'Smart Covers', giving you the same functionality, in both 'typing' and 'watching' positions. You can customise your 'Smart Case' with Apple's free lazer engraving service.

Apple Store goes offline, get ready to start pounding "refresh"

Apple's online store has been taken offline for "maintenance", which is better known as "putting up some super-sweet new products that are announced at WWDC". iOS 6 is pretty much a given, but it's probably too optimistic to expect an iPhone 5 being put on presale.

Apple aims to open more flagship stores in China

Chinese officials have confirmed that Apple is looking to open new stores in Chengdu and Shenzhen, the home town of Apple's major manufacturing partner, Foxconn. Apple only has to get an environmental permit before having final approval for the Shenzhen store, while the Chengdu location has been approved since late May.

Apple retail staff to enjoy raise earlier than expected

Apple retail employees will be getting salary increases June 30, a full three months ahead of the originally scheduled September date. The announcement was made by newly-appointed Senior VP of Apple Retail John Browett through an internal video, Raises will vary from 1% - 5%, depending on store performance, but this early advance is likely to be a one-time thing.

There have been Apple Stores inside Best Buy (and their subsidiary, Future Shop in Canada) for a long time now, but Walmart? Admittedly, I haven't been to Walmart in years, but last time I did the most they had in there was a McDonalds. Well, times change and Apple Retail just keeps building or building.

The new iPad already facing supply shortages, new orders shipping in 1-3 weeks

Have you pre-ordered your new iPad yet? If not, you could be in for a bit of a wait. It seems that Apple have pushed back the shipping date in most counties. The Apple Store now displays 'Delivers between the 16th and the 20th March'. In the UK, it's even worse with '2-3 weeks'.

People in the US, have a little while longer to go yet; however Apple are warning that the new iPad is in 'limited supplies', so they could be seeing a delay very soon.

New iPad pricing to start at $499 for Wi-Fi, $629 for 3G/4G LTE, available March 16th

Apple has announced availability and pricing for the new iPad during their iPad keynote, which won't be changing whatsoever from the previous lineup. The pricing structure will follow their typical $499/$599/$699 depending on storage space, which also carries over the to 4G LTE models at $629/$729/$829. The new iPad will be available to consumers on March 16th.
