New and updated iPhone and iPad apps for Tuesday, February 1

Every day, TiPb gets flooded with announcements for new and updated iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad apps and games. So every day we pick just a few of the most interesting, the most notable, and simply the most awesome to share with you!

  • Portal - Full Screen Browser: This full-screen web browser for the iPhone has only one discrete "portal button" that gives access to features but can easily be hidden away. [$1.99 - iTunes link]

  • Magical Images: Bring images to life with the 19th century illusion trick of overlaying a grid consisting of black vertical stripes. [$0.99 - iTunes link]

  • BiteSMS (Jailbreak): New 5.1 release with many new features including a new privacy feature that allows you to easily hide any of your conversations for complete privacy.

  • Bump: App Sharing! Now you can "bump" your favorite apps to a friend and they'll get direct links to download. [Free - iTunes link]

  • Seesmic: Lots of new features, most notably the ability to post to Facebook pages you're an admin for. [Free - iTunes link]

Any other big apps or game releases or updates today? If you pick any of these up, let us know what you think!

Bump has come in handy recently after a student told me about it. We teach classes (www.epaleadtraining.com) and if a student needs our contact information, we can just Bump instead of writing it down on the board and them typing it into their phone.
It would be nice if others who do not have the app could participate.
Maybe one day..

OrionAntares#CB says:

Couldn't you just web link a vcard or something and then use something like bit.ly to shorten the address so all those people without the app, or an iDevice for that matter, could easily just web link to that card?

Brian Tufo says:

The BiteSMS update also works with LockInfo 3.0. If you use the Favorites plugin now when you click to send a text message it opens BiteSMS instead of the native iPhone SMS app!!!

Steve says:

ESPN Radio app has been updated to Version 3. App now supports background audio without using Safari as well as a lot of new ESPN Radio channels.

BTW, I love this new feature you are posting to TiPb - there are just so many new apps hitting all the time that it is hard to wade through the masses.
Thank you!

BiteSMS - The one reason to jailbreak! ;)

Zak Saber says:

Hm Portal looks sloppy and doesn't look good. I can recommend iCab or Sleipnir which is my main browser. It's also a free app. I like Seesmic though, Friends app by which is similar isn't that bad either

Just downloaded the new rivseon and did some testing on my iPhones.3GS running 4.3.3 crashes on the splash screen. Looks like I'll have to revert to the old rivseon.3GS running 4.2.1 opens and runs fine, no worries.2G running 3.0 works fine.(MattyG has made 9 comments)

I have started using omega as my theming framework in Drupal as because of of its versatility and it has templates in html5 and CSS3. To deploy a website design in Omega has really helped me make our clients online vision a reality.
