Every Thursday, I go on a quest to find all the notable new games released on the App Store over the week, but instead of taking all the gold and experience for myself, I pass my knowledge on to you! Whether you're looking for new games, games on sale, or wondering if your favorite game got a big update, I'll break down all the notable iOS gaming news for you!

New games of the week

Need something new and shiny? Every week tons of games hit the App Store, and I keep track, so you don't have to; here are the notable releases for this week.

Battle your way to the top with 25 different fighters to choose from, including new additions Poison, Ibuki, and Dudley. With four difficulty levels in single-player, you can hone your skills and then hop over to the multiplayer mode and challenge people from around the world.

Each character has a full move set including unique attacks, focus attack, special moves, and more, bringing the hectic fast-paced arcade combat to life on your iPhone or iPad.

Minecraft: Story Mode — Season Two

Telltale Inc. brings back the popular point-and-click adventure gameplay to the Minecraft universe with Minecraft: Story Mode — Season Two.

Join Jesse and the gang as they live a more complicated life since vanquishing the Wither Storm and saving the world. Being famous adventurers takes its toll on your social life until Jesse gets his hand stuck in an ancient gauntlet of power. Assemble the group and join them on the journey to solve the newest mystery!

Like all the Telltale games, all the decisions you make throughout the story will be remembered and affect the outcome of the plot, so choose wisely!

Game updates of the week

Games are constantly being updated with new content, bug fixes, gameplay improvements, and special events. I'll highlight a few of the best updates to hit the App Store this week

Luke's game of the week.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends

The Elder Scrolls: Legends was one of the more surprising games I reviewed earlier this year and I keep coming back to play it!

The Story Mode does a fantastic job of explaining the game and all its mechanics, and Bethesda did an excellent job making this game equal parts challenging and rewarding, making it very easy to avoid spending money to get better cards.

What makes The Elder Scrolls: Legends stand out from other popular battle card games is its two-lane battlefield. Each battlefield is split into two distinct sections known as lanes. Creatures in those lanes can only attack the opponent's creatures in the same lane. The lanes can also have different effects that affect the outcome of the battles going on in that lane.
