Pac-Man, Q*bert, and Frogger to team up for upcoming Pixels mobile game

The game is based on the upcoming movie of the same name, where aliens invade the Earth using 80's video games as their avatars. A group of gamers are recruited to stop them, who are played by Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, Kevin James and Peter Dinklage.

Namco Bandai, who owns Pac-Man, among other classic characters, is publishing the Pixels mobile game:

The free mobile game offers an innovative twist on traditional tower defense game mechanics; players can take the role of the heroic Arcaders from the film to defeat aliens before they destroy the world. For the first time, PAC-MAN, Q*bert, Frogger along with other iconic game characters from the 80's will be featured in one game.

The Pixels game will be released for smartphones and tablets sometime before the release of the movie, which hits theaters on July 24.
