Safari Technology Preview 8 is here with first signs of Apple Pay support

The eighth release of the developer-focused Safari Technology Preview is now available for download. Like prior releases, this latest contains a slew of new tweaks for developers to check out, along with the first bits of code required for Apple Pay support on the web.

As Apple announced at WWDC 2016, Apple Pay will be supported in Safari starting in macOS Sierra when it is released this fall. However, though the code for support is being added to Safari Technology Preview now, the feature won't actually work until it starts being supported by websites.

This latest release also contains a number of fixes and updates for CSS, Web Inspector and more — all of which you can check out in the full release notes. If you've used a previous release, you should be able to update to release 8 via the Mac App Store now. The full download is also available directly from Apple.
