This is the way to tell the stock pundits that Apple is more than Steve Jobs.

Every time there is a Jobs' health scare the stock takes a hit and what better way to tell Wall Street than this. Yes it will diminish the importance of Jobs but then the whole is more important than the parts.

I don't think he's leaving but I anytime soon but letting others step in is the right thing to do. Every time that Steve sneezes the business press writes another Steve's dead article dropping the stock value. With others given the time and attention shows the world that there are other talented individuals in the company and that no one person is Apple even though Jobs does personify the company. It was a smart CEO move and I'd expect to see more of it as time goes on. And who knows, maybe the board will name a successor in waiting at some point to give the market more confidence in the stock.
