Apple's WWDC 2010: sold out

Apple has updated their WWDC 2010 page to indicate that their yearly developer-centric event has sold out. In 8 days.
Wow, that was fast.
WWDC takes place June 7-11 in San Francisco and, if the patterns established over the last three years holds true, the next generation iPhone will be announced during the Keynote, along with the information about the final version of iPhone OS 4.

$1599 a ticket. Nice
Why pay so much for a ticket when the world knows what will be announced?
Um, Derek, the ticket covers admission to the ENTIRE confrence. Not just the keynote speech... Sincerely, Dim
I am a WWDC newbie, can anyone tell me how one signs up for sessions or is that not occurring yet?
Wow. Thought there was a developer backlash against Apple, the App Store, and its "Draconian Policies". At least that's what most tech blogs would have you believe.
Hmmmm, guess not...
Do we still not know the exact keynote date?
@Public Farley
There is a lot of real, simmering resentment, but it will not translate into a backlash because Apple has the biggest market and the best product on the market. Only the true ideologues have jumped ship. The rest of us want to make stuff people actually use, and putting food on the table while doing it is also nice.
Apple will not see any backlash as long as they maintain those leads. If they slip, or another platform catches up where you can make things (at least almost) as cool, and sell enough to make a living, there would be a large backlash as that resentment boils over.
But for now, for the Apple with those leads, nah, no backlash. Yes, a lot of developers are pissed, so you will still read a lot of griping. However, 99% of us are also practical, so we will suck it up and work under those conditions/restrictions as long as nothing better comes along.
@(Copy of) Dev nails it again.
And even some ideologues have come back. Not Joe Hewitt or anyone who can program for Facebook, however.
Its such as you read my mind! You appear to understand a lot approximately this, such as you wrote the guide in it or something. I feel that you simply could do with some % to force the message home a little bit, however other than that, that is fantastic blog. An excellent read. I'll certainly be back.
