Google likes Apple's clarified iOS advertising policy

Google Vice President of Product Management, Omar Hamoui, has just posted about the changes made this morning to Apple's iOS developer licensing agreement, specifically the section referring to in-app advertising:
Today, Apple updated their iPhone Developer Program License Agreement. Unlike the previous version, these new terms ensure that Apple’s developers have the choice of a variety of advertising solutions (including Google’s and AdMob’s) to earn money and fund their apps. Apple’s new terms will keep in-app advertising on the iPhone open to many different mobile ad competitors and enable advertising solutions that operate across a wide range of platforms.

Let me get this straight: less fart apps, but more tacky advertising. Wonderful.
Some advertising in-app is unobtrusive like We Rule, where you're even rewarded for visiting ads if you wish. However, I fear that we will be bombarded with ads some day...
The App Store License Agreement never banned AdMob. It only banned transmitting analytics from ads like AdMob to 3rd parties like Google. And it still does! Here's the key sentence from the infamous section 3.3.9: "You may not use analytics software in Your Application to collect and send device data to a third party." Same thing, more terse wording. No analytics for Google or anyone else. Only Apple can send their advertisers iAd analytics such as number of views, time spent viewing, etc. That's critical to gauging the success of ads. And Google still can't get it from iOS so they can't charge their advertisers as much.
