Official Steve Jobs biography coming in 2012!

Could Steve Jobs have agreed to an official biography? According to Simon & Schuster, he has indeed with the book arriving in early 2012.

Walter Isaacson's "iSteve: The Book of Jobs" will be published in early 2012. Isaacson has been working on the long-rumored biography since 2009 and has interviewed Jobs, members of his family, colleagues at Apple and competitors.

Having read several of the un-authorized biographies and having listened to Jobs Stanford commencement speech, I'm very much looking forward to this. The story of the man who helped mainstream the CLI (Apple II), GUI (Mac), Multitouch (iPhone and iPad), digital music (iTunes), 3D animation (Pixar), Apple Retail, and more, with his support and input? Yes please.

Only question is iBooks or iTunes audio book?

  7. Avenged110 says:

I'm actually interested in reading this as the life of Jobs is quite interesting to me. It'd be cool to get it on iBooks and read it on my iPhone.

Still kind of surprised though that Jobs would actually ok this. He never likes people knowing about his life....

  12. sf-insider says:

RR all jobs did for pixer was to give them breathing room (by investing financially in the studio) ...it's John Lasater who began to mainstream the production of digital animation itself (and that is still a process that is refined with every film)

As an "editor" please use words carefully

Sounds like someone won't be around much longer. Then again, a person who had pancreatic cancer, then surgery, then a liver transplant wasn't going to live for another 20 years anyways....

Ah, there's nothing like the seething mass of commenters. Craziness. (Hasn't changed much since the start of Internet.)

  16. FLskydiver says:

"iSteve: The Book of Jobs" by Walter iSaacson.

  17. LaToya (AKA Digital Nightmare) says:

I don't know why my previous comments were deleted, probably because it is a FACT that OPRAH and BILL GATES are more influential and hold more power than Steve Jobs, but anyway in the eyes of these apple fanatics, Apple can do no wrong (but look no further, iTunes is a mess on the PC, it is all blocky and ugly now since 10.0).
