Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing now available for iPhone and iPad
Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing has arrived in the app store on the 20th birthday of Sonic. Twenty years ago today Sonic appeared for the very first time on the SEGA Mega Drive. Today sees the release of SEGA's latest Sonic game for iOS. We saw a short video preview of Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing a few weeks back and it looked like a really good playable game with plenty of action.
Stay ahead of the pack by dodging traps, firing missiles and, if all else fails, wreaking havoc with your All-Star moves! Whether racing on your own, or battling it out with friends, anything can happen in this crazy competition where winning is only part of the fun!The game has 10 characters and various modes of transport to choose from. These include cars, monster trucks, bikes, planes and even bananas! There are also 25 missions to complete and three Grand Prix Cups. You can challenge your friends as long as they are within Bluetooth connectivity distance or play online with up to three friends with Game Center.
The game is available now at a special price of $1.99 until June 25th. After June 25th it will cost $4.99. The other good news is that it is a universal binary; working on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

I think you'll find it was 20 years ago that Sonic appeared on the Master System, not Mega Drive. I should also point out that the release date was also 25 October 1991 and so another few motnhs before the official birthday celebrations should start.

It's pretty funny that, in the Swiss App Store, the titles of all the SEGA games that have "SEGA" in their name are listed with "SA" instead. Yet the App Store account that releases them is still called "SEGA". So I'm off to download "Sonic & SA All-Stars Racing"!
