Apple giving away holiday playlist in Apple Store app

Apple is giving away a holiday playlist from the Apple Store app for iPhone. Called Holiday Cheer, the playlist consists of eight holiday classics including Silent Night, Joy to the World, and Silent Night. Artists include Kelly Clarkson, Nick Lowe, and Mary J Blige.

To get the songs for free, open the Apple Store app on your iPhone, then scroll down until you find Holiday Cheer. When the screen pops up telling you about the playlist, tap the button that says "Download now for free" to be sent to the iTunes Store app. You'll be taken to the Redeem page, where a code will have appeared at the bottom of the scree. Simply hit Redeem, and your songs will begin downloading. You can take advantage of the offer through December 31, 2013, and the offer is only available in the iPhone app, not the recently released iPad app.

Apple has previously used the Apple Store app to give away select apps, beginning with Color Zen back in August. You can download the Apple Store app right now from the App Store.

Apple giving away holiday playlist in Apple Store app

Thanks got the heads up! Downloading the songs now. Can't wait to see what's in store for us from Apple's 12 days of Christmas app (can't remember the exact name).

Clorox2 Stain fighter for colors (be generous in application), toothbrush scrub, rinse in lukewarm water, dab with paper towel, air dry.

Will it download it as a playlist or will I have to go through my list of songs and add each one to a playlist?

That's awesome of apple to do that, it shows that they're in the holiday spirit and want people in the apple ecosystem to have some nice Christmas music which is pretty hard to find to listen to during the holiday and gift opening. Downloading now..

Fantastic! Downloaded this morning. It did not collect them as a playlist on the phone. It would be nice to capture them into a seasonal playlist of some sort. Anyone know how to do that...without first knowing all the titles?

This is the program that was restricted to the UK in previous years wasn't it? So they're allowing it in the US now?

I wonder if this method of giving away free stuff will replace iTunes 12 days of Christmas?
