Apple officially announces Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland

Steve Jobs dropped the July 30 date for next big rollout during the iPhone 4 press conference but now Apple has gone and made it official:

Beginning this Friday, customers can purchase iPhone 4 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. iPhone 4 will be available for purchase through Apple’s retail and online stores and Apple® Authorized Resellers.

Nice to see, but we'd still prefer pre-orders, reservations, Apple Online Store updates to say something other than "coming soon", official word on when Apple Retail Stores will be open, information from carriers on upgrade eligibility, MicroSIM availability, plans, etc.

You know, everything else required for a launch...!

Let's see ... so if the manufacturer releases its press release only 4 days ahead of the launch, then logically Rogers should release their pricing roughly 30min prior to opening. Sounds right.

Will Apple take care of all the people in the states, before shipping abroad ? I'm on the waiting list in Pennsylvania, so is that when I'll get mine ?

Forget the white model, how about Apple just work on fulfilling current orders? I placed my iPhone 4 order almost a month ago, and it's still on backorder with no indication on when it might ship. Ridiculous.

It's a farce. Not one carrier here in Ireland have any details of pricing or price plans available and it's supposed to be launching in 4 Days. It's ridiculous !!! @Junniorlmt Why does everybody in US think they have priority over the rest of the world. Ye have had the iPhone 4 availabe for over a month now.
"oooohhhh I don't like black, we want the white one now, forget the rest of the world"
Get A Grip and stop moaning. Typical !!

Apple calls this a launch, but the reality is that there's a shipping time of 6-8 weeks of you order now.

I'm so sick of the lack of information. All that has been released in Australia is that the outright 16GB model will cost AU$849, one carrier Optus is sending out 2 in 1 sims (a mini sim which has a pop out to make it a micro sim) to make it quicker to upgrade exisiting iPhones and the same carrier Optus is doing a midnight launch at selected city stores.

Don't get it, Why all of you going to buy that phone, knowing that the signal problem with it still very much exists

I heard Canada won't have a pre-order so looks like I wont be getting one on launch day. There is no way in he'll I'm getting in line for hours to be told it's sold out go home what a waste of time. I don't understand why the US would get pre-orders but we don't ??? Oh well guess I'll pass by the store to get a picture of the lineup and try one out in the store but I'm highly disappointed I'm thinking I might just five my 3G to my GF and get some other phone.

@GNave, because the signal 'problem' has been blown out of proportion by the mainstream media. I, for one, am glad that people like you believe the anti-hype. All it does is increase the likelihood that I'll be able to pickup a phone on launch day.
To all the Americans in the thread, we've (Canadians have) waited much longer for every version of any iDevice, and most other things for that matter. We also pay a disproportionate amount for our devices in general, and our service charges are much higher. In other words, we've earned our iPhones.

I guess the one thing that sucks for all these countries that are finally getting the iPhone 4 is the case issue. They will probably get theirs next year. I hope not, but seeing how some have ship dates of October, it's gonna be crazy.

All the foreigners complaining how the US gets their idevices first...
Deal with it! Apple is an American brand, we get priority. Besides, lately everything Apple puts out seems to have a ridiculous demand for it.. There's no way Apple can have enough units to sell to the rest of the world on launch when Apple can't even fulfill everyones order here in the states.
Exact same reason why ipads were postponed another month for international sales.

I wish there was a preorder, and even more so, more information. Fido and Rogers' website still has the register for more info. Which they have yet posted anything out. You think they would by now.

You guys are about to be welcomed to proximity sensor hell. Why doesn't Apple release a fix before selling more iPhones? Only more negative press can come from this.

Hello as you know I invented the bifocals, however, my first pair was far from perfect. Similar to the iPhone 4, which is not perfect? I think my fellow inventor Steve Jobs should perfect this cellphone as I did my bifocals before shipping them to other countries. @ Other countries you have been warned of this product that doesn’t work well as a phone. If any of you are in philly give me a call. Probably not from your iPhone 4 but maybe a payphone?!?!?!?

Nice! :)
Now i can test one in a store in austria and order it later from the uk if the screen is really that awesome.

@ Ben Franklin
Hello once again Ben! Maybe you forgot, but I was the one who first invented the telephone. I just wanted to tell you that my first telephone in 1876 dropped fewer calls than the iP4. Maybe Steve Jobs should go back and study my work from 1876 before the iP5 comes out next year. If you want to know more about how awesome I was, just go to wikipedia and type in my name!
AGB out!

Hello, Mr. Bell. Good day to your sir. This is Orville Wright. When I took my first airplane ride in 1903 I was a little scared; scared of the unknown, scared of crashing. All of that is in the past now. I can now take a Jet from LAX to Sydney without refueling. The changes in technology are fantastic! It seems with Apple they have taken a step backwards. Their IPhone 4 is riddled with issues and dropped calls; it seems they have taken 2 steps backwards. Mr. Jobs is trying to be like us, but it seems he will have to work a bit harder to become legendary. Safe travels!

Good afternoon Orville, Alexander, and Ben. It is good to see the great inventors of the past coming into this great uncensored forum to discuss all of the shortcomings of this new Apple product. I can tell you from experience that I have had many, many failures when inventing great new things, but I was never to arrogant to hide them.
This Steve Jobs character seems like a real piece of work. Why would anyone want to buy a product from such an arrogant person? Maybe a light bulb (my invention) will go off in his head one day when he understands that people will be much more receptive to buying your product commercially if you just admit when your product doesn't live up to the hype. Then he will have to pay me $0.10 for the pattened use of my light bulb.
Somebody call Henry Ford and get him in here! I'm sure he would like to discuss the overuse of these iPhones in his vehicles on today's roads.
Have a great day my fellow inventors.

It's a bit odd no pre-orders. Did they not do pre-orders in the past? Does Apple not expect the same types of lines that were in the US? Sounds like a cluster in the forming.

Hello TipB -_-
I am super excited to learn my phone will be coming to Afghanistan. I hate my Satellite phone and can't wait to obtain my new i Phone Four. I know the new i Phone Four will have less droped calls than my other phone. Steve you are a much better inventor than the other guys listed above. I love you.

Guten Tag,
Does anyone know when Apples phone will be coming to Germany? I started the Printing Revolution for all of mankind. The manual that comes with your phone was printed in Germany on my presses. If anyone has a release date it would be very helpful. I love America and can't wait for my new phone.

Greetings Eh?
I'm Wayne Gretzky and I'm the inventor of hockey in Canada, didn't you knoow? I'm suuper excited that the iP4 is coming to America's Hat! Now I can check my NHL scores right from my new iphoone. I wonder if the new iP4 is tough enough for me to toss one doown on the ice and rip a wicked awesome wrister into the net, eh? That will be my first test once I can get my hands on one.
I am pumped about the iP4 coming north of the border. Almost as pumped as when I won Lord Stanley's Cup. I will definitely have one by tomorroow, eh. You can bet on it. I only wish I had as many fanboys as these Apple products do!

@ Gino from the Bronx: thank you!!!!! @ release it already and Digicol : LOL well Gino fromte Bronx answered your question and you can call me selfish I don't care FYI I did order the black one on my secon line been a month still don't get it so apple should get us straight and than worry about ya....!!!!!!

Johannes "Johnny" Gutenberg - ze iPhone came out in Germany last month yo. Go pick yourself up one.
As for all these other countries offering the iPhone without a contract (Australia, Sweden, Norway, etc), is this the same as an unlocked phone? Or is that specific to Canada, France, UK?

@ Rene
How about you can censor my d!ck like in my movie? Please let me know when the magical iP4 will come to my home country or Kerplakistan. Good day.

Funny stuff guys!
I don't know if I'm alone on feeling this way but my enthusiasim has dropped quite a bit since release day, I am feeling as though the numerous bugs plus high price are making my 3Gs feel like a keeper

This past year has witnessed some quite serious backward steps for Apple hardware products. The most recent iPhone 4 is a serious case in point. Interestingly, there have been no slip-ups in terms of Apple software products. TMV questions whether this could be associated with the FACT that reliability of Apple hardware products is increasingly becoming an issue for consumers.
