Charlie Rose interviews Jony Ive, Marc Newson

Talk show host Charlie Rose recently interviewed Apple's senior vice president of Design Jony Ive and renowned industrial designer Marc Newson. The interview is now available to watch online.

Ive and Newson have collaborated on a series of unique product designs auctioned through Sotheby's to raise money for (RED), the AIDS charity. The interview was broadcast on PBS.

Ive and Newson's collaboration has resulted in solid gold Earpods, a special Leica camera, a unique red Mac Pro and several other unique items which are fetching astronomical prices at auction.

Apple has long partnered with (RED), donating a portion of branded Apple products and accessories to the charity, which raises money to research treatment, education and prevention of AIDS.

The entire interview is now available to watch from the Charlie Rose web site, or Hulu.com.

There's a new book on the iBooks Store if anyone's interested. It's all about Jony and his creative shenanigans!

Incredible. As a designer myself, this was great to watch. The insight into their motivations and way of thinking. I'd love to see more of these kinds of videos.

I really found this interview to be very interesting and insightful. Jony Ive is an intriguing person and this was the first time that I heard him speak at length about design.

It's a great interview. The attention to detail that these people have is beyond most people's keenest eye and imagination.
