Best iPhoneography of the week: Introductions!

Every day, millions of photos are taken around the world, and a good chunk of those are taken on an iPhone. It's no wonder why — the iPhone is super portable, has an amazing iSight camera and an incredibly easy to use Camera app. Combine that with the ability to share photos instantly via Twitter, Instagram and other social networks, and you have the perfect solution for capturing and publishing any moment imaginable. So, each week we're going to scour the social networks for uplifting, inspiring, touching, and all around amazing photos using #iphone #iphoneography #vscocam and similar hashtags and embed the best of what we find. And since iMore has an Instagram account now, if you really want to get our attention and get featured, use #imoregram to make sure we don't miss it. Enjoy!

Weekly photo contest: Perspective!

How we take a photo can dramatically alter the resulting image. Sometimes simply snapping something from a different angle can make an okay photo an amazing one. When looking at building, landscapes, and other subjects, it really is all about perspective. This week we want you to go out and look at things a little differently. Try experimenting with different angles and styles. You may be surprised what you come up with!

The contest begins today and ends Tuesday, July 15th at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Good luck!

Weekly photo contest: Transit!

Odds are you've been on a train, plane, bus, or some other kind of transit before. For many of us, it's a daily part of how we get from point A to point B. Transit systems and the people that use them can make for amazing photographs as well. So your task this week is to grab an amazing shot with the subject being some kind of public transit. Perhaps it's an interesting person you met on the subway, or a dark tunnel with a train emerging. The choice is yours, just be sure you submit your best work!

The contest begins today and ends Tuesday, June 24th at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Good luck!

Weekly photo contest: Clouds!

When shooting a photo outside, we quickly realize how important of a role the sky plays in how our picture turns out. Clouds are a huge part of that landscape and sometimes their presence can make or break a great photo opportunity. That's your task this week! Find a photo that you've taken — or snap a new one — that just wouldn't be the same without clouds in the sky.

The contest begins today and ends Tuesday, June 17th at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Good luck!

Reflections make for a very unique subject in photos. Whether the reflection is in a mirror, water, glass window, or something else, it can add an element to a photo that makes it stand out. Your task this week is to use reflections to your advantage. The win this week will go to the person who can capture an image that just wouldn't be the same unless that reflection was exactly as it was.

The contest begins today and ends Tuesday, May 27th at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Good luck!

Weekly photo contest: Storms!

Whether you love them or hate them, one thing all areas of the world face occasionally are storms. While they can ruin your afternoon park outing rather quickly, they make for amazingly beautiful photos. From a thunder head rolling in over a lake to dark skies over endless fields, storms create powerful images. This week your task is to capture a storm photo — while staying safe of course. Feel free to use one you've captured in the past if you'd like as well!

The contest begins today and ends Tuesday, May 20th at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Good luck!

Weekly photo contest: Filters!

Filters are not only fun to use, they add something unique that distinguishes your photo of something from everyone else's. They also make it easier to be creative and really think outside the box when editing a photo. Sometimes applying filters on top of filters can turn something dull into something amazing. While filters aren't appropriate for every photo we take, they have their place. That's your task this week. Snap a photo and experiment with filters. Be sure to submit the ones you just don't think would be the same without filter effects!

The contest begins today and ends Tuesday, May 13th at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Good luck!
