Angela Ahrendts leaves fashion for Apple as new svp of online and retail stores

Angela Ahrendts has officially joined Apple as its new senior vice president of retail and online stores, reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook. Ahrendts official biography is now being hosted on the Apple website and is listed alongside other senior executives including Jony Ive and Phil Schiller.
Angela Ahrendts graduated with a degree in Merchandising and Marketing from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. After graduating she worked her way through various fashion companies. In 1998 she joined Fifth & Pacific Companies, eventually serving as executive vice president. In 2006 she became CEO of Burberry. Ahrendts has also been awarded both an honorary doctorate and a dame commander of the British Empire (DCE).
Now it's time to take Apple's new unified only and retail store division to the next level. Will that include fashion and wearables? It will be interesting to see what Ahrendts brings to Apple.
