It's been a long time in coming, but finally Apple has begun to allow the gifting of books from the iBookstore. We've been able to gift media content and apps for some time now, but just in time for the busy holiday season, Macworld has reported that we can now send our loved ones that digital read.
Gifting works in just the same way for iBooks as it does in the other stores. Hit the dropdown menu by the price if you're in iTunes on your Mac or Windows PC, or by tapping the share icon on your iPhone or iPad, selecting the gift option and following the onscreen prompts. There's no gifting between international stores though sadly as with Apple's other content stores, so if you're looking for a gift for that overseas relative you'll still need to look elsewhere.
It should be live now for everyone with access to the iBookstore, so go ahead and take a look. Anything in there you'll be sending to someone this Christmas?
